That's 'cause VAMPS kind of sucks compared to HYDE's solo work, I mean VAMPS is a fun group with catchy tunes, not with great music. Or at least, I see it that way.

VAMPS is much better live than they are just listening to their music. HYDE is good listened too as well as (I'm assuming) Live.

HYDE and VAMPS lives are pretty much the same IMO. Both are wild, screaming, etc. VAMPS songs are more suitable for lives (with some exceptions) while HYDE stuff you can listen AND enjoy live. I really hope HYDE will go back to his solo roots. I've been praying he'll release another album like ROENTGEN. I highly doubt he'll do that kind of music with VAMPS...the "HYDE IS DEAD" thing crushed my hopes for another epic album such as ROENTGEN

I'm so glad I contributed 1 out of the 24,580 units sold

It's kind of odd that they rarely perform songs from sakura's era these days, the only real exception is Caress of Venus, and to a lesser extent Lies and Truth (2003, 2006, 2007). Not counting L'A HAPPY NEW YEAR, flower was last performed in full in 2003, while Vivid Colors appeared in 2003 and 2006, Kaze ni Kienaide last performed 1998. Their Indies songs also last appeared on a regular basis in early 1997 during the last shows of Carnival of True (although Yokan did appear briefly during the SMILE TOUR 2004, due to the release of the remastered Dune album). Of course, songs that weren't released as singles from 1994-1996 have hardly ever appeared in the last 10 years, like Blame (1994, 1995) unless it's one of those P'UNK renditions (Round and Round 2005, I Wish 2007, Dune 2008). As for their B-sides, Brilliant Years (1995, 1996, 1997), Sai wa Nagerareta (1996, 1997), Sayounara (1996, 1997, and appeared once in 2007), THE GHOST IN MY ROOM (1997, 1999), I'm so happy (1996, 1997, 2010), metropolis (1998, 2006, 2007), Peeping Tom (1998 only).

Interestingly, even some post-sakura era songs have also been ignored for years. Most notably, snow drop (only appeared in 1998, 1999, 2005), finale (1999, 2000), Shinshouku ~lose control~ (in full 1998, 1999, 2003), Anemone (in full 2000, as part of medley 2006), Spirit dreams inside (2001, 2003).

So with the 2 concerts this month focusing on two different time periods 1991-1998 and 1999-2010, I'm hoping they'll truly surprise us.

This is just off the top of my head, not the definitive list lol! Not listened to them properly in a while.  In no particular order apart from the first song:

Flower
Kasou
My Heart Draws A Dream
Kaze ni Kienaide
Shutting from the Sky
Dive to Blue
Ibara no Namida
Anata no Tameni
Still I'm With You
Brilliant Years

Lucky you for FLA2!

Laruku has been ignoring their other songs for quite sometime now. Or I'm just bitter about snow drop smiley: frown I mean it's their second best selling single but the last time I saw them perform it was in 2006 as part of a medley T_T  They have a lot of songs to choose from, but they have these songs that they just can't remove from their setlists, like Caress of Venus, KILLING ME, Link (they've been playing this since they released it), Ready Steady Go, etc.

I hope that the 2-day concert will make room for more of their songs that have not been performed for sometime. I'm really itching for the TIERRA songs. I miss BLAME big time.

Anyhoo! In one of Music Station's episodes (September 2010), they enumerated the top-selling artists of J-Pop. L'Arc~en~Ciel was placed on the 15th spot with 28,490,000 albums and singles sold (excluding DVD sales).

And their top 3 best-selling singles are (+copies sold):
1. HONEY - 1,300,000
2. snow drop - 1, 280, 000
3. Heaven's Drive - 1,270,000

Wow, surprised at the top 3 selling songs, though I expected Honey to be there. Honey and Heaven's Drive don't do much for me. Thought Dive to Blue would have been a high seller.

^I agree. The only single that I expected up there was HONEY. Snow Drop is their second best-selling single, so why oh why do they not perform it often? Sorry, it's one of my earliest Laruku songs so that makes one of all-time faves <3

Anyhoo, some news!!!

Fans of rock band L’Arc-en-Ciel will be able to hear the band’s upcoming single, “SCHOOL OF LOCK!“, on TOKYO FM on May 9th at 22:00.

No more information has been released other than it will be played for the first time on that day, so the mystery of the single is likely to keep fans at the edge of their seats.

“SCHOOL OF LOCK!” will be broadcasted on 38 channels nationwide, not just on TOKYO FM, so fans should definitely check it out if they can!

OMG! NEW SINGLE?!?! About time! I'm so excited to hear it. We will probably get a radio rip by tomorrow. I wonder if this song is for the FMA new movie, or just a completely new song.

No, Tokyo Hive, the title of the song is not "SCHOOL OF LOCK!"; that's the name of the radio show.  -_-

thanks for clearing that up! (I didn't even check their source).  SCHOOL OF LOCK does sounds a little weird for a Laruku song title.
