Shouldn't this thread be in the J-rock subforum? It will probably need an actual active thread there if it's as dead here as it was on the old forum.

You may have to contact a mod, or it just might be easy enough to delete this one and restart it as there really isn't anything in this one but the initial information post.

The only reason this thread was so dead on JPM is because L'Arc was only re-releasing old material & solo crap.  Once they release a new single/album, the post count will pick up.

Hope we get more news on that song soon! Can't wait to see the L'Arc~beast to go into full throttle again, with single releases, an album, lives and TV promo. Even if it's just for this year < 3

I don't think seca meant the Laruku thread was dead, but the JRock subforum Laruku's thread was probably the most active thread in that subforum (the recent posts were gone because of the crash though D: )

Their last release was last year... and BLESS feels so ancient now, even if I still like it quite a lot. The new song, for the small piece we've heard, sounds nice, but I want more.

agreed....Laruku, please hurry up and spread the love faster , we want to hear a new song ~~~ Just a bit of thinking, i was thinking that among all the legends (or veteran artist that once was so big in the past, but now start to decline..), Laruku is the band that has the ability to attract new fans because of their image, personality and their association with anime. They are popular in Japan and outside Japan, an achievement that is rare because usually some artist were really successful in Japan but doing so so outside Japan. Laruku is a fine example of a successful band that remain relevant up until now that can attract kids, teenage and young adult and adult ~ Laruku has the appeal that not all other older band has, usually people will thinking he is too old, this band consist of old people is not cool, but for Laruku even though they are old, they are still cool and people wont say they are too old but will react," OMG, is it true they are that old?". Even ten year later, i think people will still say ' OMG, really? they are that old, they doesnt look that old~" Hope Laruku will remain 'kakkoi' for their own sake because the combination of their music and their image that made them so successful.

Yes, Laruku is definitely an example of a genuinely good band with a positive image. It's hard to imagine this is their 20th anniversary this year! With well established bands, their music usually tends to follow a certain predictable pattern but Laruku surprises me every time since they don't stick to the same formula but rather experiment with new and different sounds. So it's always very exciting to see what songs they choose for their next tour - A combination of fan favorites but also a selection of songs that haven't been performed for several years. The variety of songs and themes for each of their tours really makes each live unique. For example, AWAKE TOUR 2005 focused on peace and anti-war, which is reflected in the album and in the live performance. THEATER OF KISS had an Alice in Wonderland theme, with matching stage characters and outfits. While with TOUR 2008 L'7 Trans ASIA via PARIS, they were clearly going on a journey, travelling around the world, similar to pirates on a ship and finally return to their home onboard the pirate ship stage.

Since the release of FIVE LIVE ARCHIVES 2, it really got me thinking if we'll ever get sakura era lives. While watching 1997 REINCARNATION, I noticed they performed most of the tracks of the True album, but it would be exciting to see something like FIVE LIVE ARCHIVES 0 (like CHRONICLE 0 which had music videos when sakura was still part of Laruku). The problem is if they even have 5 different lives recorded that featured sakura. I know TOUR heavenly '95 final was definitely recorded in full since parts of it were released in video, and it was filmed in Budokan. sakura's last live with Laruku, Carnival of True in January 29th, 1997 (also in Budokan) was recorded in full too since low quality copies of it exist.

The new song sounds quite a bit like Nexus4...I guess that's okay, but I don't want their songs to start sounding alike. That's what I love so much about them. No two songs sound alike.

And I agree, their message is great.

What I like the most about them is how versatile they are, how they go from one genre to another and make it their own. I really enjoy all of their songs because they're so unique. I can't judge the new song yet, 'cause I've just listened a little bit. I would need to listen in full to be able to comment on it. And I definitely agree that they don't get boring and they have fans of all ages. And that's awesome. God, I miss them so much.

IMO Laruku is able to be so versatile is because each member has their own style. tetsuya is more pop, yukihiro is more electro, hyde is heavy rock, and ken is melodic/dark. It's hard to get sick of them since they don't stick to a certain genre/style, and they're always revamping their sound to fit to contemporary time.
