Beats me, too. All I know is that Be My Last is a greats song but the poorest release of Hikki. One song and that's all. Or one song and video... No instrumental, no b-side etc.

It means Toshiba EMI thought the song would be massive, so printed 500k+ copies of it, then nobody bought them and 400k copies or so just kinda...sat around and probably got destroyed.

To be honest, I could personally care less about Japanese certifications for physical sales, considering we have the actual sales numbers

Yup, and RIAJ certification for physical release is per shipping, not actual sales. Besides, there's a lot of artists not able to match the shipping certification with actual sales.

My song at #1 this time! Yeay! You really can't run from this song especially if you watch the dorama, and with the dorama's rating shot up like no business, I'm not surprised this can climb on the chart like this. Congrats Maru Maru Mori Mori team!

Are they the youngest people ever to have a number one on RIAJ chart? It's too bad RIAJ doesn't keep an extremely detailed record like Oricon did, cos I do believe they are.

The Ponyo song also had a little girl in the song, maybe they topped also the digital chart. i don't know
I know Gake no Ue no Ponyo peaked at #1 on RIAJ's monthly chaku-uta chart. I'm not sure about the weekly. I know it got 500,000+ certification for chaku-uta and 250,000+ certification for chaku-uta full. However, Ohashi Nozomi was about 8 y-o when the song was released, much older than the now 6 y-o Mana-chan and Fuku-chan. In term of age, I think these two little adorbs are the youngest so far.

Well, it's the first dog to have a #1 hit, at the very least.

smiley: laugh smiley: laugh Good one. I remember Ashida Mana is the youngest lead drama actor, so theoretically, she could also the youngest to hit number one in RIAJ.

And thanks for the clarification FrozenSoul!
