ARTPOP SUCKS lol. Jeezuz what happened to this woman. Her Fame Monster album was one of the best, most concise killer pop tunes delivered in 8 succinct pop gems with hooks that lodged in the brain like sharpnel. Now she's an overblown hype machine with little stuff to back up. Trite concept. trite songs although while Applause grew on me and Do What U Want is a genuinely good step in the right direction, all the other songs are just overblown mess with her singing reduced to wailing and vibrato more annoying than Ayumi's. I don't have to talk about the string thin concept of art-pop. Just because you drag big name artists to the album does not necessarily justify her "reverse Warholian experience" like WTF is that suppose to mean anyway other than pretentious. I'm prepared to swallow this bollocks if the music is half as good but sadly they're not. Gaga was a force to be reckoned with back 2-4 years ago something brave and somewhat reliable delivery of pop pleasure. But even then, now she can't deliver the pop aspect, let alone the bloody art. /rant

Well I can say I'm personally excited for Britney's album from the previews.

Also I'm feeling Little Mix's new album so much more than their debut. It's been forever since I've taken to a UK girl group.

Lol at Bey dropping album out of the blue and slaying all the charts. People say it's the anti-thesis of the usual marketing approach. Yeah right, it's the best marketing approach and look how much hype it's generating by not building a hype lolol.

I somehow think it's like a slap in the face for Gaga who's obviously trying (too) hard to build hype (releasing video from bit-torrent) and then coming short of a triumph. Just drop the album and be done with, granted it's Beyonce's star power that carried it through but as a Guardian article pointed it through, it's as if we've listened to half of Gaga's album a year before it's released lol

so, the Japanese way? Tongue

i don't follow Bey or American mainstream music in general really, so i have to ask, was the album a complete surprise? there was no announcement at all? it just appeared? you'd think that at some point in the planning process some information would have leaked. it would have been hard to keep it all under control. super hardcore fans of hers would have gotten a feeling that something was coming right?

None.

I have to say I'm surprised by how much I like the album, considering I don't care for a whole lot of her music.

Knowles explained that she was "bored" of her music being marketed as it had been done previously.

lol way to show them, "i don't like your marketing so i'm just not gonna market it at all and still slay."
