First, I'll just say the stage was almost identical to that of CDL, except the screen was different. The view screens were instead at each end of the stage, while a middle screen played the videos and background clips (like a normal concert). The HOTEL Love songs moniker was above the oval-ish stage, everything covered in purple curtains. Right before the concert officially starts and before the lights cut off, we're shown a mock commercial for the HOTEL Love songs.....hotel lol narrated by Timmy, talking about the luxurious rooms, the gardens, the gym, pool. bar etc. and showing pics of different places that will appear in the videos.
The intro movie starts, and we see ayu and her dancers in their bellhop outfits being introduced. They're doing various things like bar tending and carrying luggage. As they're introduced, each dancer appears from a different hole in the catwalk. Then Happening Here
begins, with Ayu being lowered with two of her dancers in a silver platform-thing. Sadly no headbanging like CDL lulz Everybody disappears.
The second video begins with Ayu and dancers now playing the roles of guests, walking around the hotel into their respective rooms. We see each room on a split screen, each with a couple inside, Ayu is with Maro. Then as Ayu and Maro walk through the hallways, another couple walks the opposite way and Maro starts eyeing the girl, unbeknownst to Ayu.
Next is reminds me
, and this essentially is the same as the part in CDL where the revolving floor brings out various doors with couples. All the couples are fighting, the women kick their men out as a similar video plays. Ayu is wearing the greenish outfit with a long ponytail, the dancers is sparkly outfits. Then Tell me why
, where the men are begging to be forgiven lol. There's a really cool rock-ish breakdown in the middle.
The third video shows a door that says "Room 109", and we see Ayu lying asleep with Maro, who stealthily gets out of bed and sneaks out of the room. As soon as the door closes Ayu opens her eyes and turns on the light on the night stand, looking broken hearted. Maro goes to meet another woman at the door to her room, and is let inside. We then see a montage of Maro visiting various women in the single night, at one point pushing one of them on the bed (and is subsequently kicked in the face LOL).appears
begins, and again this is an updated version of the CDL scene with the two mattresses. Ayu and the female dancers wear their lingere/nightwear, and the couple are each on a mattress. Maro comes back to Ayu's and the two argue, then Maro goes to the other mattress where he begins to sex up another woman again, as Ayu laments alone in her bed. Finally after another fight, the two end up alone in separate beds.
The fourth video shows a door with "Staff Room" on it. This is where we see "nerd Ayu" <3 in her very conservative housekeeping outfit + glasses with the female dancers and one male. They're preparing various cleaning supplies like a vaccum and mops while a cup of tea
plays, when all of a sudden somebody knocks over the giant bucket of water and soap. Everybody begins to blame one another and as they argue, they start spilling more water on each other and soap and the vacuum hose gets tangled through people's legs. The male dancer gets covered in suds by Ayu and the others and appears to be liking it LOL. Then suddenly they rip off their conservative outfits to reveal Ayu in a cute maid costume with a really short skirt and cat ears, minus the glasses. The women are in similar outfits, with less frilly skirts. The man, however, is in nothing but garter belt, leggings, and a corsette. They exit the room.Shake It
♥ begins, and for most of the song Ayu and friends are on the catwalk and center platform. I must say that Ayu's booty shake is amazingly fast lol. The familiar intro starts looping, and STEP you
begins as the center platform rises with Ayu on it. Sorry I don't remember much else from that section.
Then male dancers come out in those weird stuffed animal/baby looking outfits from CDL, doing various shenanigans. Suddenly a second group of male dancers comes out with gangsta clothes on and guns, and they begin to terrorize and shoot at the weirdly dressed group. The video screen shows a dirty, dingy room that this takes place in. Eventually one of the men shoots the word "KILL" into the wall, light coming thru the bullet holes. They flee, but soon the female dancers come out in similar gangsta clothes and shoot at the male gangstas, apparently defending those who were being terrorized. The men flee as well, and as they run off stage they run "onto" the screen into the dingy room, where they grab more guns and begin to battle with the ladies on stage through the screen. Finally the ladies win, and Ayu appears on stage in her gangsta outfit with a gun and shoots the word "LOVE" into the wall. <3NaNaNa
begins. Err...I can't remember much about it LOL rest assured it was great tho! After that song ends the lights cut off to blacklights (which illuminate the gangsta clothes really cool) and Sparkle
begins. Lights (purple) cut back on for "karada de kanjite", and they bring the green lasers out! The crowd's energy was really great for this song, especially the NO! NO! NO! part lol.
After everybody leaves the stage, one of Ayu's male dancers comes out in a suit and hat while jazzy music plays. Timmy "plays" the trombone and the new female vocalist (no Peco...sadface) "plays" the clarinet. The dancers steps onto a black board and tap dances for like a minute or two, eventually the music stops for a tap solo. After that, Ayu comes out standing on top of the bar (forgot how that got there lol) in her little silver sparkly dress with hat to the side and curly pink wig, sings the next LOVE
, mostly remaining on the bar. As the song ends, the males get on all fours and make steps for Ayu to descend from the bar, and she sings Eyes, Smoke, Magic
, this time working the catwalk.
The sixth video shows a door with "Garden" written on it, and we get a long, advancing shot of a very dark, cloudy garden while the organ plays. Dancers walk out in single file line wearing large cloaks while Timmy does operatic chanting. They then line up along the catwalk, staggered into two rows. Ayu is lifted from under the stage in a gorgeous light-up gown, and Return Road
begins. After the first chorus, the bottom part of the dress is taken off for mobility and just her top half remains lit up, and she proceeds to the catwalk to reenact the scene from the PV where she's running up to the hooded men, looking for her man and becoming severely distressed. The lighting and overall sound gets darker and sadder, and the men begin to march back as Ayu continues toward the center platform. As shes checking the men still, one of the hooded figures starts going the opposite direction (toward the stage) and also starts checking the people. As each reaches their place (Ayu on the center platform, hooded figure on the stage), the hooded figure is revealed to be Shuya. Both look at one another, and the lights cut.Serenade in A minor
plays while a female dancer is lowered inside a ball-shaped cage with long red fabric hanging off, and does acrobatics. The instrumental to Ladies Night
plays while dancers do their thing. Then it starts over from the beginning, and Ayu is lowered down on a big silver cross-thing (from CDL cover) in another sparkly outfit, this time with a black bowtie and hat, and sings Ladies Night. She gets off, and works the catwalk again.
Then four big ass light-up letters come on stage via the revolving platform, spelling the word LOVE. Ayu is perched on the lower part of L. Party queen
begins, and the HOTEL Love songs moniker above the stage rotates to read "Party queen". She eventually makes her way on top of the O light. The beat is going like normal, then all of a sudden everything just stops in the middle and the lights instantly switch to dim blue while LOVE continues to shine bright white. Sad organ-esque music plays and she sings the chorus as a ballad, singing instead "I am a party queen, I am a lonely queen". This part sent chills down my spine, VERY well executed. As suddenly as the energy went down, it returned again as the lights flashed and the original version of the song resumed. Ayu goes to the center platform.SURREAL~evolution~SURREAL
is next, which was amazing. Before the chorus of SURREAL, it switches to evolution, then after the crowd participation part of evolution, SURREAL resumes at the chorus and firework/explosion thingies go off. Ayu and friends return to the main stage and start to gather, then bow and say thank you as the curtains fall. They almost reach the bottom when the keyboardist begins playing as if the song is far from over, then the curtains quickly rise again and Ayu looks really confused/amused at the keyboardist, saying "Isn't it over? I thought we were done! You still wanna play?". The female vocalist does a spazz-tastic solo. Then Ayu's all like, "You guys really want another song?!" to the crowd. She agrees and sings a kinda-stripped down arrangement of Love song
(to a gigantic roar of excitement, god I never knew this song was so popular!). After, she "officially" says goodbye.A-YU! *clapclapclap* A-YU! *clapclapclap* A-YU! *clapclapclap*
Then the little A comes on screen and Ayu-ready starts, various chanting begins lol. Ayu comes back out in the pink leopard tee and MCs, thanking the crowd and saying how she did almost all of Party Queen album, but that we might notice there's a song missing (at which I instantly thought how beautiful you are, but no lol) and sings letter
. The lyrics are shown on screen, and she works all parts of the stage (which seems rare at this concert, she mainly stayed in the middle sections the whole time). She was soooo close to me, it was amazing! And the girl looks absolutely stunning, I might add.
Next was Boys & Girls
, definitely a crowd favorite. Ayu and the dancers threw out balls which Ayu signed (didn't get one...), and at the chorus cannons shot out those ribbon things (also didn't get that, I was stage side
). The musicians and vocalists were thanked and had little solos. After, Ayu MCs a bit again, thanking the crowd once more and saying that the next and last song is the "true" love song. She performs how beautiful you are
, which ended up making the perfect closer! In the middle she did her thank-yous to each dancer, the staff, and the crowd. Bows, more thank-yous, and curtain close!
Overall I was very pleased with the show, and ultimately I'm glad I didn't spoil it for myself. I had a feeling she would perform mostly Party Queen tracks (which is totally fine) but when I heard the intros to STEP you, Ladies Night, and Sparkle, I was so freaking pumped!!! As a first (and hopefully not last) Ayu concert, it was everything I hoped for and more. Ayu sounded fantastic, and although I was sad to see Peco gone, I'm glad Timmy was there! It was amazing to see Ayu with thine own eyes, and again she looked gorgeous! Luv ya ayu! ♥
LOL random, checked HOTEL Love songs blog and spotted myself! I'm the tard with the purple coat and blue backpack xD
